Prayer Ministry
What We Are
The Prayer Ministry consists of people who want to be more intimately involved with God as we praise God and petition and request of God. Prayer includes confession, thanksgiving, waiting on God and being available to God. It means being willing to be changed by God.
Why do we need a Prayer Ministry?
- God requires it
- For bringing the needs of the congregation, Province, country, world to God
- For reaching unchurched through support in prayer
- To be a seed in the United Church - confessing God and praying for the United Church
- To teach about prayer and how to pray
- To support the Minister and the leaders in the church
- For listening to what God wants from us
- To pray for health and healing of body, mind and spirit of those in need
- To give thanks and praise to God for all His blessings
How to find us.
The Prayer groups meet each Sunday morning at 9.30 am in the Youth Lounge
Who to contact.
Prayer requests can be submitted to the Church

Activities
- Prayer groups : The Prayer groups offer thanksgiving and praise for answered prayer. They also pray for long-term development issues in the church e.g. prayer calendar, as well as special needs of the church community. They provide prayer support to the various ministries in the church with intercessory prayer e.g. Youth Ministry. The groups also pray for the needs of the wider community and the world. All the prayer requests submitted are included in the group prayer meetings. Each member of the groups also prays for prayer requests daily in their own devotion time
- The Prayer chain responds to urgent prayer request needs. Communication of the needs to those on the prayer chain may be via telephone, e-mail or fax.
- Education on Prayer - workshops are run at intervals as well as information provided on workshops at other churches
1 Thessalonians 5:16 Be joyful always pray continually give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
