The September Board Meeting was held a little earlier in the month than usual, Wednesday 10th.

Our focus was the upcoming ACM (Annual Congregation Meeting) to be held following the church service on Sunday, November 2nd.

It was confirmed that some Board members will be stepping down from their role and new members joining; Bill Keen will be moving   into the position of chair while Thomas steps back; he will, however, remain on the board in the position of past chair.  Several people have already expressed interest in joining the board.

We then moved on to financials and the annual budget.  Our operating costs are increasing while weekly, monthly, annual giving is not keeping pace.  The budget to be presented at the ACM will reflect operational costs as we look at the financial needs of our ministry and building in the coming year and going forward.

There was some discussion around fundraising. Although it generates some revenue and brings the church and local community together, it is not a reliable, sustainable way to increase revenue. Those people who organized events in the past are no longer able to do so. The board acknowledged Mariska’s enthusiasm and work for the very successful Winter Market and would like to encourage other such initiatives by church members.

Blessings
