As we look towards creating a curated resource centre in the Bailey Memorial Library over the coming months, we are clearing out many of the old books that are in the library. This process of updating materials is unrelated to the ongoing Narthex Revamp, which is a separate initiative.
A review of the library inventory has been ongoing over the past year and it was discovered that most of the materials are outdated, theologically problematic, or unhelpful as resources for spiritual formation and discipleship. Once this clearing is complete, the plan is to start highlighting resources that align with our ministry priorities as a community of faith—things related to small group studies, Alpha, sermon series, learning events, etc.
Rest assured, this process has also involved ensuring that historical items, legacy donations, and congregational memorabilia are retained.
Over the summer, you will again see tables in the Narthex with books that are free to take. Take as many as you like! Items that are not re-homed will be boxed up for donation and/or recycling (as needed).
If you have any questions about this process, please speak to Rev. Sam.
